I love to read the blog Seriously So Blessed. I think it is hilarious. In case any of you don't know, the blog often does giveaways where the author TAMN offers prizes donated by her sponsers done through a drawing. One simply comments on that post and a week or so later she posts the winners. So, when I was leaving my comment on her most recent post as I faithfully and unfruitfully do for every giveaway, I noticed that over 1,000 other people had also left comments. ONE THOUSAND. I'm pretty sure only 4 people read my blog. Popularity is a bummer.
This is funny. Really funny. Because I have thought the same thing about myself. And then wondered why it mattered to me. But you have 5 followers so I am thiking that at least 5 people read your blog. And just because you don't know people are reading doesn't mean that they aren't. Turns out there are a lot of people who read my blog that I didn't find out about until a lot later. Do you have a site meter? That might give you an idea of whether there are more people visiting JCMJ.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you really want 1,000 followers (which is kinda creepy, dontcha think?) all it takes it at least 2-3 posts a week and give aways where you say "One entry for commenting, two for posting a link on your blog, three if you mention this giveaway on FB". Doesn't matter what you actually write about, people will be drawn to your blog. It's called marketing. I may or may not have considered doing this.
Hey, Jessica! It's Dorothy. Yeah, I usually don't comment on people's blogs that I don't know well because it requires some sort of awkward introduction like the one above, plus some sort of reason to be commenting.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I just wanted to assure that the author of seriously so blessed gets quite a few comments on her personal blog, but nowhere near 1000. Hope that makes you feel better.
